Director

Faten Mansour grew up in the Mediterranean region where she traveled to many European countries due to her father's career. Her father was from Greece and her mother is from Israel. Faten attended high school at the Catholic School Rosary College. King Hussein of Jordan had three of his daughters studying there. Faten often saw the King and talked to him whenever he visited the school. Little did she know then, that later on in life Faten would work with King Hussein and his wife ( Queen Noor), as their office manager at the Queen Alia International Airport. Faten speaks fluent French, English, and Arabic, having been trained in linguistics since she was three years old. Speaking multiple languages has opened up many option in her life.

In 1981 Faten settled in San Jose, California, where she worked in her family's business as an office manager. Her family owned and operated a find dining establishment named Marquee Club and Café, which stood right where Santana Row is right now and across the street from the famous Winchester Mystery House in San Jose Ca. As she worked in the family business, Faten contiued her education in the fields of Computer Programming and Animation/Multimedia. Faten has earned several degree such as: A.S. Degree in Web Design from the California College of Communications, A.S. Degree in Interactive Multimedia Communications/Animation from West Valley College, Bachelor of Arts Degree and Minor in Photography from San Jose State University. and A.S. Degree in Business Management /Office Administrator from West Valley College. Faten continues to expand her education by constantly updating her knowledge in the field of IT and web development. She believes that every day she should learn something new, and she believes in capturing each moment of her day as thought were her last.

Faten joined the NASA Ames Community in 2001. Her interest in web design begin while she was traveling in Europe and working with different foreign companies. Faten chose to be a web designer and developer because of the multiple exciting challenges that the job demands. By choosing this career path, she gets to design graphical interfaces, code in Java, JavaScript, DHTML, program in PHP, create databases, design graphics, perform web and database administration, maintain web sites, optimize sites for search engines, and provide web consulting, Internet marketing, and web security. Faten is the only web development manager working fulltime for the NASA Ames Health and Safety Division, she also supports NASA Ames Health Unit, the NASA Ames Fitness Center, the NASA Ames Environment Division, and coordinates various events. Faten joined the Ames Contractor Council (ACC) in 2004; the year 2006 was elected secretary as well as the Chairperson of the Web Committee. Faten continues to be the Chairperson of the Web Committee, as well as Director of the Ames Contractor Council (ACC) for 2007. She also provides support to the other ACC committees, such as the ACC Golf Tournament Committee, Partners in Excellence Committee, and wherever else help is needed.

Faten continues working as a Freelance Web Developer and she volunteers her time and effort at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, Villa Montalvo, the Mountain Winery, and to many other different art organizatiosn and Artists as well all over the Bay Area. Faten loves art, but her passion is watercolor painting. While she is not working in front of the computer, she loves to paint coastal scenes in Davenport area or at any lovely location in Santa Cruz County. Faten also is a gourmet baker and cook, having learned the secrets of fine dining from her mother and their chefs when they owned their fine dining restaurant. Combining Greek, Italian, and Middle Eastern cuisines, her cooking is guaranteed to tickle your taste buds. Faten has developed an interest in decorating as well, visit her office, and you will see for yoursel!. The field of Web Design and Development allows Faten to meld her computer skills and artistic ability, in order to create a unique and exquisite product. She has accumulated over 20 years of web design and development experience.

Faten was married and has a daughter (Lara) that is the joy and sunshine of her life. Faten enjoy traveling with her daughter, riding horses, baking, cooking, painting and of course listening to Andrea Bocelli, Julio Iglesias, and Chris Isaak.
