
Faten Mansour grew up in the Mediterranean region, from which she traveled extensively throughout Europe. Faten attended high school at the Catholic Rosary College, along with three of the late Jordanian King Hussein's daughters. Later, after graduating, Faten went to work with the late King Hussein and his wife, Queen Noor, as their office manager at the Queen Alia International Airport. Trained in linguistics since she was three years old, Faten speaks fluent French, English, and Arabic.
In 1981 Faten settled in San Jose, California, where she became office manager for her family-owned fine-dining restaurant business The Marquee Club and Cafe, which stood where the CineArts Theatre at Santana Row stands today, just across the street from the famous Winchester Mystery House. Faten continues to constantly update her knowledge in the fields of IT and the high ends of the web development since she lives in the heart of the Silicon Valley. She believes in learning something new every day.
In 2001, Faten joined the NASA Ames Community. Her interest in web design began when she was traveling in Europe and working with different companies located there. Faten enjoys being a web designer/developer because of the many exciting challenges that the job entails. Her chosen career path offers her opportunities to design graphical interfaces, code in Java, JavaScript, DHTML, program in PHP, create databases, design graphics, perform web and database administration, maintain web sites, optimize sites for search engines, and provide web consulting, Internet marketing, and web security.
For seven years Faten provided her expertise as the only web development manager working fulltime for the NASA Ames Health and Safety Division. She also provided support to the NASA Ames Health Unit, the NASA Ames Fitness Center, the NASA Ames Environment Division, and she still helps to coordinate various events throughout the NASA Ames Research Center.
Faten was invited to join the Ames Contractor Council (ACC) in 2004. In 2006, she was elected secretary, as well as the Chairperson of the Web Committee. Today, Faten continues to be the Chairperson of the Web Committee, as well as serving as a Director of the Ames Contractor Council (ACC) since 2007. She also provides support to other ACC committees, such as the ACC Golf Tournament Committee, Partners in Excellence Committee, and wherever else her expertise is needed.
Today, Faten is a Freelance Web Engineer who has founded her own company, Exquisite Designs. In her free time, Faten enjoys volunteering at venues such as the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, the Villa Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, and the Summer Concert Series at Mountain Winery of Saratoga. Faten also has many connections to different art organizations and artists all over the Bay Area. Faten loves art and her passion is watercolor painting. While she is not working at the computer or volunteering, Faten relaxes by painting Northern California coastal scenes. Faten remains a gourmet baker and chef, having learned the secrets of the kitchen from her mother and the chefs at their family restaurant. Combining Greek, Italian, and Middle Eastern cuisines, her food is guaranteed to tickle the taste buds.
Faten married young and she has a grown daughter, Lara, who is the joy and sunshine of her life. Faten enjoys listening to the music of Andrea Bocelli, Sara Brightman, Michael Buble, Julio Iglesias, and Chris Isaak.
The field of Web Design and Development allows Faten to combine her computer skills with her artistic ability in order to create unique and exquisite products. She has over 22 years of web design and development experience.
